In the second installment of my Christmas Eve Universal Experience, I will be focusing on the rides Kung Fu Panda, Pets Off the Leash, & Minion Mayhem.
Kung Fu Panda:
This was probably my least favorite part of the day. I am not really a fan of Kung Fu Panda, and I didn’t really find the show to be very immersive. Shrek was definitely better.
Pets off the Leash:
I rode the Pets Off the Leash ride–unfortunately, I lost all my footage from it. I will be going back to Universal soon, so I will try to get it then. Basically, the premise of the ride is that you are a stray dog going through the process of getting adopted by a family. The characters from The Secret Life of Pets make a few appearances to help you out.
While the ride is very cute, it is also very, very slow. This is not a thrill ride at all. It is designed for kids and to put you inside the movie. Once I get footage of the entire ride, I’ll add it to this post, but for now, that’s all I really have to say about it.
Minion Mayhem

While I am also not really a fan of the minion movies, I do like the minion ride. This is one I’ve ridden numerous times, mostly in Hollywood, as I ride it each time I go to the park. I also rode it in Orlando (it’s pretty much the same). I’ve always liked the ride. It’s a simulated rollercoaster where Gru turns everyone into minions, and the girls are put in charge of our training.
Thats a shame the kung fu panda ride wasn’t as immersive as you were hoping. I really love that movie though, so I’d probably still want to give it a go. 🙂
The minions one sounds hilarious too.
Minion Mayhem is pretty funny. You might like the Kung Fu Panda ride, but it really wasn’t very immersive.
Thanks for the tips about Christmas Eve Universal Experience!
