Book Reviews: Edition 15 focuses on Holy Fruit Toots Rosie!, The Fun Thieves, and Canada: My Home.
Holy Fruit Toots Rosie!
Holy Fruit Toots Rosie! was written by Christine J. Logan and illustrated by Gayatri Ray. This was a cute and funny story about a serious issue. And, it’s great way to teach kids about things their dogs cannot eat. This book gets 5/5 from me.
The Fun Thieves
The Fun Thieves is written and illustrated by Carli Valentine. To be honest, I wasn’t very hopeful about this book given the title. And, I’ll be honest, I didn’t really care for the story. My biggest issue is, for sure, with the title. The thieves in the book were in no way fun. The book itself was also simplistic, but not concepts that children would relate to. This book gets 2/5 stars from me.
Canada: My Home
Canada: My Home is written by Leah Leslie. Although there is nothing technically wrong with it, I didn’t find it especially interesting. Don’t get me wrong–I love Canada, and I want to move there, but I would have either wanted more information or for it to be more entertaining. It gets 3/5 stars from me.
