Book Reviews: Edition 17

Book Reviews: Edition 17 focuses on ABC Picture Book, Summer, and GROWING UP WITH BENDIE THE SQUIRREL: I CAN MAKE MY BED.

ABC Picture Book

ABC Picture Book is written b y Leah Leslie. The concept is very simple–just a letter and a picture of something that begins with that letter. It’s great for kids that are learning their letters. However, I think there are a lot of these out there, so I’m giving it a 4/5.

Summer

Summer is also written by Leah Leslie. I didn’t really like this one. Although there was nothing really wrong with it, I didn’t find it to be very engaging.

One thing I have observed from this author is that I feel like everything is just thrown together. There’s no real creativity in the books I’ve read from her.

There are photographs of summer activities in this one, but I feel like she’s just listing them off rather than making any attempt at a story. This one gets 3/5 stars.

GROWING UP WITH BENDIE THE SQUIRREL: I CAN MAKE MY BED

GROWING UP WITH BENDIE THE SQUIRREL: I CAN MAKE MY BED was written by Tony and Nicole Davis.

This was such a cute story! The premise is that Bendie the squirrel draws a new task every morning to learn how to do. In this story, he draws ‘make your bed’, so his mom shows him how to make his bed and a song to sing with the instructions in it. While Bendie struggles at first, he eventually learns how to make his bed. This book gets 5/5 stars from me.
