Abortion Legislation, and the Real Reason Behind It
I was raised in the Catholic church, and at one point in time, I was anti-abortion. Now, I no longer say pro-life in relation to abortions, because I believe them to be two separate issues. I honestly believe that many people, good people, consider themselves to be pro-life (anti-abortion) due to not really understanding the issue.
This is not me saying that these people are not intelligent, but rather that they have been misinformed or have simply not been exposed to all the information out there.
A vast majority of abortions take place in the first trimester. Abortions that take place later than 12 weeks are usually because of medical issues with the fetus and risks to the mother. By instituting any kind of abortion ban, these women’s lives are put in jeopardy, even with exceptions for the life of the mother because who decides?
Abortion bans make doctors too afraid to give an abortion, even to save the life of the mother. This is because the burden of proof is on the doctor to prove that the abortion was justified.
Dr. Mama Jones is an ObGyn, and an expert in the field. Here is her take on Lindsey Graham’s position of a national abortion ban.
Republicans and Fascism
This is honestly the scariest part about what the Republicans are up to. I don’t have a lot to add to this at the moment, but it honestly freaks me me out that this is what their aim is, and that they might just pull it off.
I think the sources speak for themselves.
