Wizarding World of Harry Potter Orlando Attraction Guide

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Orlando is comprised of two parks–Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley in Universal Studios. Here is my Wizarding World of Harry Potter Orlando Attraction Guide.

Hogsmeade

Hogsmeade is located in Islands of Adventure, which opened in 2010. And, there are four rides and four shows within Hogsmeade.

Hogsmeade Rides

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is a high speed rollercoaster with two seats–a motorbike and sidecar. Minimum height is 48 inches, and child swap is available. Loose articles are permitted in the sidecar, but larger riders cannot ride in the sidecar. There are also size limits for the motorbike. And, the express pass is not available for this ride. But, there is a single rider line.

Flight of the Hippogriff

Flight of the Hippogriff is also a rollercoaster, but it is designed for children. Minimum height is 36 inches. And, children under 48 inches must ride with an adult. Express pass and child swap are available.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a 3D, motion simulated ride. Muggles (park guests) have been invited for a tour of Hogwarts, including taking a couple of classes such as history of magic. Harry, Ron, and Hermione have a different idea, however.

Hermione enchants some benches to fly, so you can join Harry and Ron on the quidditch pitch. That’s when everything goes wrong. You eventually make it to the quidditch pitch, only for dementors to show up!

You finally arrive back to Hogwarts, where you are applauded for your bravery. Dumbledore then tells you that you are welcome to come back any time.

The height requirement is 48 inches, and child swap is available. Both express pass and single rider lines are available. Personal items are prohibited and free lockers are provided.

Hogwarts Express

The Hogwarts Express will take you either to Hogwarts in Islands of Adventure or to Diagon Alley in Universal Studios. Park to park passes are necessary to ride this. The Hogwarts Express is kid friendly, although children under 48 inches must ride with an adult. Express is available. And, this ride is handicap accessible.

Hogsmeade & Diagon Alley Shows

The same shows appear in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, with the exception of the light show at Hogwarts Castle, so I will list them together.

Frog Choir

Although I have never seen the regular Frog Choir performance, the above video is for the the Christmas Frog Choir.

Triwizard Tournament

As far I as I know, there is only one version of this show. The video is only part of the show. If you’re interested in seeing the rest, comment below, and I will upload the video to Youtube and add it here.

Ollivander’s

Ollivander’s involves watching someone being chosen by a wand. Please note that they only choose children around the age of 11, so this is generally a one and done show. See it once, and then don’t worry about it after that. The only exception is if you are traveling with a child that could be chosen.

Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts

There are a few different shows depending on the time of year. This show is only in Hogsmeade as it focuses on Hogwarts castle. There is the Dark Arts show that is usually present during Halloween (but is not limited to Halloween). And, the Magic of Christmas is during the winter holidays.

Diagon Alley

There are only two rides in Diagon Alley: Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts and the Hogwarts Express. The video for Hogwarts Express is different depending on the direction of travel.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Harry Potter and the Escape from Hogwarts is a 3D simulated thrill ride. The minimum height allowed on the ride is 42 inches and under 48 inches must ride with an adult. Express pass, single rider line, and child swap are available. Loose articles are prohibited.

Interactive Wands

The last attraction in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the interactive wands. There are spells in each of the parks.
