I have been a member of Al-anon for a long time. And, one thing I’ve learned is that when times get tough, you need to focus on doing the next right thing.

I’ve Been Dealing with A lot Lately
Most people aren’t aware, but I got stranded in Norcal over Thanksgiving this past year. It’s a long story, but I had to take out more than one cash advance to get through and finally get home. The result of all of this is that I am still dealing with financial issues as a result. I’ve slowly begun to work through everything, but it’s a process.
One thing that’s been helping me is to focus on the next right thing, especially as health issues seem to be cropping up, particularly involving sleep issues.
I Feel Like I Am Being Buried Under a Mountain of Tasks
When I have more things going on, I suddenly feel like I am being buried under a mountain of tasks. What helps me in navigating this is by focusing on the next right thing. Not everything on my to do list is urgent. By weighing the importance, I can focus on one thing at a time, starting with the most important and working my way down to less important items.
